What: Coal delivery to Representative Wittman’s Yorktown Office

In response to Representative Wittman’s lack of support for extending the ACA enhanced premium tax credits, members of the Williamsburg Area Chapter of Virginia Organizing will deliver a stocking full of coal to Wittman’s Yorktown office on Tuesday, December 23 at 12 p.m. The chapter is also expressing its general disappointment for his support for the OBBBA and cuts to health care earlier this year. 

Justus Kane, a member of the Williamsburg Area Chapter of Virginia Organizing, shared, “All I wanted for Christmas is proper coverage for my family. The healthcare cuts will impact us.” 

Not only have constituents felt the strain of health care cuts, but they have also noted dissonance between Wittman’s expressed position and his voting record. 

“When it comes to our health, we all want to make sure we can prevent, treat, or recover from illness or injury without fearing we’ll go bankrupt. Rob Wittman claims he wants better healthcare for Virginians, but his actions prove otherwise,” said Kate McCord, the newest member of the Virginia Organizing State Governing Board and Williamsburg resident.

“Wittman has allowed greedy insurance corporations, hospital chains, and pharma lobbyists rake in record profits, all while denying Virginians quality affordable care. Working families deserve better than Rob Wittman’s empty promises. Join us on Tuesday to hold him accountable,” said McCord.
