What: First annual Williamsburg Area Pride Festival
When: Saturday, June 27, 12 p.m.
Where: Jamestown Beach Event Park, 2205 Jamestown Rd., Williamsburg, VA 2318.
Williamsburg, VA – Virginia Organizing will be hosting the first annual Williamsburg Area Pride festival on June 27, 2026 from 12 to 5 p.m. at Jamestown Beach Event Park. This will be the first large-scale Pride event in James City County and will fill the gap between pride events on the Peninsula and Richmond. Community members from all areas are welcome.
The event will feature family-friendly activities including arts and crafts, face painting, vendor tables, a photo booth, and a DJ. There will also be food trucks serving southern-style, BBQ, Chilean food, and more. After the event, festivities will include an after party at Virginia Beer Company from 5 p.m. to close.
Community members have expressed their support ahead of the festival, including faith leaders who believe that this is a positive step forward in the area.
“As a pastor at a church including several LGBTQ+ members, I’m excited to see Williamsburg rallying together to support the LGBTQ+ folks in our community. It’s a scary time to be openly LGBTQ+. Anything we can do to remind the LGBTQ+ folks in our lives that they are loved and supported is much-needed,” said Reverend Kali Cawthon-Freels.
Reverend Lisa Green, of Historic Area Religions Together (HART), also shared views about supporting the local LGBTQ+ community.
“Believing that all people are created in the image of God, we affirm the inherent dignity, worth and sacred belovedness of each and every person. We celebrate the diversity of humanity — people of all races, religions, identities and expressions of love and life — and of all creation. And we call on our leaders to treat all our neighbors with respect, compassion and equal protection under the law.”
HART will also be holding a service in solidarity with Williamsburg Pride on Sunday June 28 at 2:30 pm at the Williamsburg Unitarian Universalist Church.
