Our Restoration of Rights Statewide Strategy Committee has been getting the word out about the work we have been doing around the state to help people restore their voting rights. We have been strategizing with chapter members, educating our communities, and helping people to petition for their voting rights. We also advocated for restoration of rights at the General Assembly and are thrilled that the joint resolutions passed the General Assembly! Now, it is up to Virginians to decide in November for rights to automatically be restored!

We are calling for volunteers! One way you can get involved in our Restoration of Rights efforts is to volunteer to make calls and help returning citizens apply to have their rights restored, check their application statuses, or register to vote.
In the meantime, here is some information about upcoming events and resources:
Join us at the Hampton Roads Social Justice Conference (April 14-15 at Christopher Newport University), where we’ll be presenting on our statewide efforts on restoration of voting rights this April.
For those who are currently registered to vote and want to advocate for voting rights, Virginia will be voting on state constitutional amendments this November. There will also be a special election in April. Be sure you know your polling place and make sure you are registered to vote!

Actualización del Comité de Estrategia Estatal para la Restauración de Derechos
Nuestro Comité de Estrategia Estatal para la Restauración de Derechos ha estado difundiendo información sobre la labor que realizamos en todo el estado para ayudar a las personas a recuperar su derecho al voto. Hemos estado elaborando estrategias junto con los miembros de nuestros Capítulos, educando a nuestras comunidades y ayudando a las personas a solicitar la restitución de sus derechos electorales. También abogamos por la restauración de derechos ante la Asamblea General, ¡y estamos entusiasmados de que el proyecto de ley haya sido promulgado! Ahora, ¡corresponde a los habitantes de Virginia decidir en noviembre si los derechos se restaurarán de manera automática!

¡Hacemos un llamado a los voluntarios!
