Williamsburg, Va. – The Newport News/Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Williamsburg chapters of Virginia Organizing will be holding a peaceful protest in front of the ICE field office on Granby St. in Norfolk. Members of the organization are protesting in opposition to the presence and activity of ICE in the city.

The group will convene at the site of the old confederate statue on Main St., then march together to the Norfolk Federal building for the protest.

This action comes in the wake of the massive “Big Beautiful Bill,” which will put 10,000 more ICE agents in the street, making it increasingly unsafe for the immigrant communities of Hampton Roads. It will also be held the day after protected status ends for Afghan nationals and in the midst of anti-immigration legislation.

People will be available to interview at the protest. To interview a spokesperson, please contact Meghan McNamara at meghan@grand-cyan-rabbit.67-208-42-13.cpanel.site, or 847-922-1213.
