Lucy van Tine – Newport News/Hampton Chapter

Lucy has been a member of the Newport News/Hampton Chapter since its inception in 2018 and has been an asset and respected leader in the chapter. Lucy is a strong leader who always makes room for others to shine. Lucy led the chapter’s Fundraising Subcommittee for several years before stepping down last year, although she continues to encourage fundraising in her community.
Lucy is currently a member of the Restoration of Rights Statewide Strategy Committee. She is passionate about social justice work, especially environmental issues, preserving green spaces, and addressing racism and Jim Crow practices. Lucy is kind and considerate, often offering carpool rides to help members attend events. She has written many great letters-to-the-editor and encourages our chapter to uplift their collective voice in support of our grassroots efforts!
Thank you for building power with us, Lucy!
